The Stuart Gordon Memorial Golf Tournament
This annual event, also known as “Stuart’s Golf Day”, takes place in the Autumn at Scotscraig Golf Club, Tayport, when golfers from throughout the country take part in truly friendly competition, raising thousands of pounds for the charity.
The competition is in the Stableford format with teams of four, the individual winner being awarded The Stuart Gordon Memorial Trophy and the winning team The Sandy Raeburn Quaich.
On the day there are refreshments served before the shotgun start and a two course meal is served in the evening. This is followed by the prize giving, an auction of quality items and our famous raffle draw. Family friend, Ernie Els, has presented prizes and remembers Stuart fondly.
“When I first met Stuart in 1992, I had no idea he was ill…
He was 19 years old and a keen golfer. There was no reason to think he was ill as he enjoyed life to the full, always smiling and enjoying a joke. My abiding memory of Stuart is of a young man with a ready smile who cared about those who were less fortunate than himself, his wonderful sense
of humour………and laughter!”
Friend and former Open and U.S. Champion : Ernie Els.
