When I first met Stuart in 1992, I had no idea he was ill…
He was 19 years old and a keen golfer. There was no reason to think he was ill as he enjoyed life to the full, always smiling and enjoying a joke. My abiding memory of Stuart is of a young man with a ready smile who cared about those who were less fortunate than himself, his wonderful sense
of humour………and laughter!

The Stuart Gordon fund is a charity formed to assist families affected by Cystic Fibrosis and other chronic ailments. Stuart Gordon had cystic fibrosis (CF) and was 23 when he died on December 27, 1996.

Stuart always wanted to help others and for four years had organised a charity golf event. Following Stuart’s death his mother and father, Ruth and Ian, took over and in 1998 the Stuart Gordon Fund was established. The main thrust is to benefit people affected by CF and we do this by working closely with specialist CF nurses whose help is invaluable in finding out what patients and families need.
